ADTSEA September Virtual Workshop Overview of Cognitive Skills Development During BTW Lessons Workshop

This workshop will focus on where the instructor should be searching and how to instruct and evaluate where the student driver should be searching during a BTW lesson. The workshop will focus on developing visual search patterns and cognitive skills development during BTW lessons. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify where instructors should be searching during BTW lesson.
  • Identify how to instruct and evaluate where a student should be searching during a BTW lesson.
  • Identify how to apply risk management and decision-making strategies taught in the classroom to BTW lessons.
  • Describe techniques to engage student drivers and observers in developing cognitive skills during BTW lessons.

Professional development certificates will be issued for full attendance of the workshop after completing a questionnaire. Check with your state administration to verify if participation will be accepted. The workshops will be recorded and available on the website to view at a later time after registering.
