Overview of Cognitive Skills Development During BTW Lessons Workshop:This workshop will focus on where the instructor should be searching and how to instruct and evaluate where the student driver should be searching during a BTW lesson. The workshop will focus on developing visual search patterns and cognitive skills development during BTW lessons. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
Identify where instructors should be searching during a BTW lesson
Identify how to instruct and evaluate where a student driver should be searching during a BTW lesson.
Identify how to apply risk management and decision-making strategies taught in the classroom to BTW lessons.
Describe techniques to engage student drivers and observers in developing cognitive skills during BTW lessons.
