Gene asked me to pass along this information. He informed me that he has talked with Bill Harrison, Chairman and CEO of the NC State Board of Education. Mr. Harrison is in the process of asking the state for a waiver for driver education purchase orders being affected by the attached memos. It is my understanding that driver education contracted services and/or employee payroll is not affected by this directive. I will keep you posted once I find out more information from Gene and/or DPI on how this affects driver education budgets.
