NC Legislative Report

By: Gene Causby

Legislative Update for August 7, 2009
From Gene

Phil states:

I just hear from Gene Causby a few minutes ago and he reports that the final allocation for driver education in the budget that the legislature passed is $32, 859,859.00. This is a cut of $1.1 million. It is a little less than the reversion from last year. Gene did ask them to consider leaving some money in the budget for 9th grade ADM and he thinks that is why we did not get cut any more than we did. The per pupil allocation will be forwarded as soon as possible.

From Gene:

"Folks, you can breathe a sigh of relief! We could have been cut much, much more and we could have been cut out completely! This is a budget that we can live with I believe!"
