    Note: In 1992 the North Carolina Legislature took Driver Education out of the regular school day. Each individual School system was allowed to continue to provide driver education in-house or hire private driving schools to provide instruction under contract to the school system. Jordan Driving School, Inc. was founded by Lorraine Jordan, a Wake County Schools driver education instructor, who wanted to see the quality and integrity of instruction maintained in our school system. JDS was awarded the Wake County contract for the 1992-1993 school year. We presently serve five counties in North Carolina providing instruction for between 25,000 – 30,000 eligible students each year. JDS is a commercial school only in that this is required to contract with school systems in North Carolina. JDS does no private instruction, only school contracting.
  • 1993: Hired by Jordan Driving School, Inc. to work as a liaison between JDS, Wake County School System and Driver Education school site coordinators
  • 1994 – 1995: Jordan Driving School, Inc. Wake County Manager 1995 – Present Fulltime Jordan Driving School, Inc., Director of Operations
  • 1996 – Present Oversee Jordan Driving School, Inc., contract with the Charlotte- Mecklenburg School System, Charlotte, North Carolina. We presently provide instruction for approximately 15,000 eligible students each year.
  • 1997 – 2006: Member of the executive board of the North Carolina Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association
  • 1997: Elected 2nd Vice President of the North Carolina Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association

  • 2004 – 2006: Board Director, Executive Board of the American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association representing the Southeast region.
  • 2006 – Present: Appointed to a statewide committee charged with working for the improvement of the Driver Education program in North Carolina.
  • 2006: Recipient of the State Association “In-Field Award” for contributions to Driver Education in North Carolina
  • 2007: Re-elected for a three-year term on the Executive Board of the American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association representing the Southeast region.
